What is Intention?
Intention is a focus timer app for iPhone and Apple Watch with Timer, Interval, Breath work and Focus/Pomodoro modes.
What is Focus/Pomodoro mode?
It runs structured focus blocks with short/long breaks, and can end by work-block target or total time cap.
Why didn’t my streak increase?
Only sessions you Save are counted.
Does Intention sync across devices?
Yes, with iCloud sync when available. If iCloud is unavailable, the app uses local storage and shows a sync banner.
Why am I seeing a sync warning banner?
iCloud sync is currently unavailable (for example, account/settings/connectivity). The app still works locally.
Can I use Intention without Apple Watch?
Yes. The iPhone app works fully on its own.
Recommended Permissions (and Why)
1) Notifications (iPhone + Apple Watch)
Why recommended: So Intention can alert you when:
- A timer completes
- An interval boundary is reached
This is especially helpful when the app is in the background.
2) Health Access (Apple Watch)
Why recommended: Intention can use watch workout runtime support to keep timer timing and haptic reliability strong when the watch is dim or wrist-down.
How is activity saved to Apple Health?
On Apple Watch, if Health permission is enabled, Intention starts a Mind & Body workout session while a timer is running. When the session ends (finish, cancel, or stop), the workout is ended and saved to Apple Health.
What exactly is written to Health?
A lightweight Mind & Body workout entry is written to support reliable timer runtime behavior on watch.
Is Health permission required?
No. Intention still works without Health permission, but watch reliability in wrist-down/dim/background conditions may be reduced.
3) iCloud for Intention
Why recommended: Enables sync of timers/session data across your devices. Without it, data stays local to the current device.
