
Get started
- Open Intention on iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Tap + to create your first timer.
- Enter a name and choose:
- Timer
- Breath work
- Interval
- Focus/Pomodoro
- Tap Done.
Pick the right timer type
- Timer
Use this when you just want one clean focus block with no phases or structure, either counting up or counting down. Get haptic feedback with intervals - Breathe
Use this when you want guided breathing to settle your mind and reset focus. You can choose:- Box Breathing (4-4-4-4): inhale 4s, hold 4s, exhale 4s, hold 4s (16s cycle)
- Reset Breathing (3-3-3): inhale 3s, hold 3s, exhale 3s (9s cycle)
- Relaxing Breath (4-7-8): inhale 4s, hold 7s, exhale 8s (19s cycle)
Breath sessions finish on a full breath cycle, not halfway through.
- Interval
Use this when you want work/rest rounds repeated across a total work target, like training sets or task sprints. - Focus
Use this when you want longer structured focus with planned breaks to keep your energy steady over deep work sessions.
Run a session
- Tap a timer from the list.
- Tap the ring to Start.
- Tap Pause while running.
- Tap Resume when paused.
End a session
When you finish (or back out), you’ll see:
- Save: Adds the session to streak history.
- Cancel: Exits without saving.
Edit or delete a timer
- Swipe and tap Edit to change settings.
- Swipe and tap Delete to remove a timer.
Customise settings
You can configure:
- Name and timer type
- Duration/work-rest structure
- Count up/down (Timer mode)
- Interval feedback: Haptic, Sound, or Both
- Sound choice
- Accent color
- Progress bar visibility
Track streaks
- Top streak row: overall recent activity
- Timer row streaks: per-timer activity
- Only saved sessions count toward streaks
